Rehab and remorse for Emile Hirsch

Hollywood star Emile Hirsch cut a sweet deal when he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault stemming from a January incident at the Sundance Film Festival where he was drunk and choked and knocked out a female Paramount Studios executive.

What made the difference here is Hirsch appears to have gotten his act together and put himself in rehab before he went to court.

Hirsch told the court he was so drunk he had no memory of the incident and took full responsibility for his behavior.

So what does rehab and remorse get you? For Hirsh it is just 15 days in jail, a fine, 50 hours of community service and if he does all these things the charges will be off his record. That’s a lot better than the five years behind bars.

His victim doesn’t buy it. She said through her lawyer, the punishment does not fit the crime.

Pistorius Prison Break

Oscar Pistorius, the disgraced South African sprinter, is leaving prison after serving only 10 months of his five year sentence for shooting and killing his girlfriend.

The so-called blade runner is expected to be put on house arrest.

The public outrage is far, wide and loud for this move. It’s truly shocking that someone convicted of killing someone would be out after less than a year. Under South African law, he served the absolute minimum he had to serve.

Playing the V card

V. Stiviano, the one-time mistress of Donald Sterling is still playing the victim. This time on a podcast. This comes as she’s facing off in court against Donald’s estranged wife, Shelly. Apparently V believes Donald needs to come clean about what happened. In my opinion, V needs to keep her mouth shut since she’s already been ordered to repay $2.6 million in this case and is facing another lawsuit with the Sterling family.
