Tune into CBS and catch me live on The Insider at 6PM PST tonight talking about the Kesha (real name Kesha Rose Sebert) lawsuit against Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald), for allegedly drugging and raping her as well as other claimed ongoing abusive behavior over a ten year span.  Dr. Luke denies any and all such allegations.

Kesha requested an injunction to temporarily nullify Kesha’s contract with Sony Records, which ties her to working with Dr. Luke.  (An injunction is an emergency request that the court order something.  In other words, you have to show that without one, you’ll suffer irreparable harm.)  In this case the Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich denied the artist’s request for the injunction.

The judge ruled Sony Records will suffer irreparable harm if pop star Kesha does not comply with her contract. Kesha’s contract with Sony Records requires her to record a reported six more albums for the label.

Even though the New York judge denied Kesha’s request that doesn’t mean this lawsuit goes away.  There’s still a lot to sort out in this case of “he said – she said” that could be resolved between the parties or may play out in front of a jury.
