darren_kavinoky_id_water_cupMarch 22, 2016–Los Angeles, California–“There is no life without water” says Guy Ryder in his message on World Water Day 2016. Guy Ryder, International Labour Organziation Director-General and Chair of UN-Water educates global citizens on the ways in which water can hinder progress. He talks about the job of a young girl to walk six miles a day to obtain water, a job which is unpaid and prohibits her from gaining an education.

On World Water Day, the United Nations hopes to bring awareness to the essential element of life–water. It’s a day to get informed and know how you can make a difference. How can we ensure safe delivery and access to water for everyone? According to Guy Ryder, “Every year over 340,000 Thousand workers die because of inadequate water supply and sanitation.”

Have you ever considered how much water you use on a daily basis?
